Personal statement

Currently Lecturer in Education (Early Childhood) in the School of Education, Faculty of Arts-Education, Deakin University (Djilong – Waurn Ponds Campus) Australia. Living and working on Wadawurrung Dja (Country). In 2019 I successfully completed a Doctor of Education degree at University of New England (UNE), Australia. You can find out more about my research interests and activity at Llewellyn Wishart on ResearchGate and ORCID.  Like so many people working in higher education and research I’m stuck in front of a computer screen, this “sedentary insanity” (quoting Steve Paxton, co-founder of Contact Improvisation) needs vigilant and playful resistance! I maintain sanity with regular embodiment practices: meditation, yoga, dance, mindful nature & ocean walks; cycling, gardening, surfing, kayaking and sailing. Land, sky and waters of Bella Wiyn (Bellarine) Peninsula are constant sources of inspiration.
