Personal statement

I’m currently a Lecturer in Early Childhood Education in the School of Education, Faculty of Arts-Education, at Deakin University (Geelong – Waurn Ponds Campus) Australia. I’m studying for a Doctor of Education degree at University of New England (UNE), Australia. You can find out more about my research interests and activity on Research Gate  . Like so many people working in higher education and research I get stuck too much in front of a computer screen. This “sedentary insanity” to quote Steve Paxton (founder of Contact Improvisation) needs vigilant and playful resistance! I maintain sanity with regular embodiment breaks: meditation, yoga, dance, mindful nature and ocean walks, cycling, gardening, surfing, kayaking and more. I love to blog when I can as The Kindergardener.
