Gotta love being part of creating the world you do want rather than opposing the world you don’t want – inspired by Permaculture Ethics of earth care, people care, fair share. A rabbit proof fence, nearly 900 indigenous ground covers, grasses, shrubs and trees, a village (50+ volunteers young and old) and you have a nature reserve on coastal yaluk (waterways) on Wadawurrung Dja (Country).
Embracing Permaculture Principles “small and slow solutions” (work for steady incremental change, one plant and one small patch of Country at a time) and “integrate rather than segregate” (many hands make light work).
Big shout out to CSC Coastcare and City of Greater Geelong Nature Reserves Team for holding space to make this happen and to Wadawurrung Traditional Owners for their vision to heal and restore Dja and their Care for Mother Country across millienia.
